It is commonly produced through the process of fermentation and brewing of different kinds of starches. The common ingredients are mainly cereal grains such as malted barley, corn, rice, and wheat. It is usually flavoured with hops and other herbs and fruits. Its alcoholic content ranges from four to six percent of its volume.

The commonly used flavourings include juniper, nutmeg, star anise, angelica, coriander, and petite wormwood. They are mixed altogether and then undergo another process of distillation before acquiring the finished product.

  • Gin

There are two types that are most common, the distilled and the compound. This liqueur is widely used in many cocktail mixes.
